Replacement thermostat for the Yanmar-built diesel engines used across John Deere's compact utility, crawler, and lawn and garden lines — the small-displacement three- and four-cylinder motors that powered machines from the 650 through the 4110, ProGator UTVs, and several motor grader applications. The same engine family also appeared in Yanmar-branded tractors of the same era. These thermostats fail in both directions: stuck open causes slow warm-up, increased cylinder wear, and reduced power; stuck closed causes overheating. Note that the gasket is sold separately and should be replaced at the same time — reusing the old one is a common source of callbacks.
